This year’s UNSC delegates were not cooperating with each other, solutions were proposed
however no solutions were agreed on. Each country provides a different solution to the problem.
China stated that in order to solve this Sino-Indian border problem, Countries need to reinforce
bilateral agreements, revitalize consultation mechanisms and oppose external interference.
Sierra Leone stated in an interview that China and India mistrust has increased over the past
years due to strong border patrol and military presence between borders. India and China could
not solve the issue this way, Sierra Leone suggested for both parties to communicate with one
another and find a possible solution towards this issue. This issue should only have India and
China being directly involved in the problem and other countries could help but should not be in
a direct way. Sierra Leone had proposed a stage base approach to combat this problem.
Japan suggested a demarcation survey by gathering cartographers from non involved member
states to ensure neutrality. Thus, hopely produces a verified map by both parties.
The UNSC has not directly interviewed in the Sino Indian border conflict due to China's
permanent member status and veto power leading to diplomatic deadlock.
The delegate of India proposed a UN supervised mapping and verification mission to collect and
compare border maps from both states.
