The discussion on the UNSC council regarding the topic of the Sino-Indian border conflict was no doubt at all a fruitful one. Ideas were shared, purposes were shown, and most importantly, solutions were revealed. One of the delegates, the delegate of China, had stated that the root cause of the Sino-India border conflict was due to the Indian representatives drawing the map without the representatives of China' s consent, which led to land between the two countries overlapping making each country have a different map, therefore starting a dispute. Most delegates in the council which participated in the discussion regarding the root causes of the dispute was a lack of miscommunication and due to the lack of India’s communication with China. But is that really all there is to it? Were there really no other root causes?

During another discussion regarding the effectiveness of the past CBM (Confidence-Building Measures), the delegate of Japan had stated that there should just be a new agreement between both countries, however the delegate of Japan had failed to elaborate on how it would actually take effect. The delegate of Japan had also stated that the council of WHO should try to initiate a new comitte to make a borderline that is correct and precise. Readers may ask themselves if the delegate of Japan’s solution would really work and if it really is a solid solution as there have been agreements between China and India in the past yet the Sino-India barrier dispute is still ongoing.

The delegate of Japan had also stated that a possible solution could just be a little transparency to stop the conflict, which to readers might come across as wishful thinking or a “delusion”. Many of the people which were affected by the Sino-India barrier conflict must have already realized that this situation has gone out of just a little bit of “transparency”. If transparency was the solution then the conflict would have been longed solved. Many delegates have attempted to reach a solution to solve the Sino-India barrier conflict, but have yet to sucessfully create a full proof solution. Although this is the case, the council has one common ground, it is that the Sino-India barrier must be resolved near into the future.

In conclusion, the Sino-India barrier conflict was caused by the miscommunication and lack of consideration towards China’s opinion. Hopefully, this crisis may be solved in the near future.
